Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of HappySpoon, a weekly meal-planning app made by taplove designs. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

What HappySpoon is

HappySpoon generates weekly meal plans for your household using AI, built around the goals, rules, and preferences you set, and turns them into consolidated shopping lists you can share, check off together, and print.

Your account

Keep your credentials to yourself and give us accurate information. You're responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 13 to use HappySpoon.

Households and sharing

Joining a household shares its content — plans, lists, rules, member first names — among its members. Your invite code is the key to your household: share it only with people you trust. Anything a member adds to shared content is visible to the rest of the household.

A word about AI-generated meal plans — please read this one

Meal suggestions, ingredients, amounts, cooking steps, and nutrition figures in HappySpoon are generated by AI. They are informational suggestions, not medical, nutritional, or dietary advice, and they can contain mistakes. Nutrition numbers are estimates. If you or anyone at your table has food allergies, intolerances, or medical dietary requirements, you must verify every ingredient yourself before buying or cooking — rules you set in the app (like "no shellfish") guide the AI but are not a guarantee. When in doubt, consult a professional, not an app.

Subscriptions

HappySpoon+ is an optional auto-renewing subscription purchased through the App Store or Google Play. The price is shown before you buy; billing and renewal are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their terms, and you can cancel anytime in your device's subscription settings — deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by the app stores under their policies. Free-tier features and limits may change as HappySpoon evolves.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service: no unauthorized access, no scraping or reverse engineering, no using HappySpoon to violate the law, and no attempting to disrupt the service or other households.

Your content and ours

The rules, plans, and other content your household creates remain yours; you give us the license needed to store, process, and sync it to operate the service. HappySpoon itself — the app, design, and brand — belongs to taplove designs.

Availability and changes

HappySpoon is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and features may change, be added, or be retired over time.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, taplove designs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of HappySpoon, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Termination

You can stop using HappySpoon and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms meaningfully, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. Continuing to use HappySpoon after changes take effect means you accept them. Questions: hello@happyspoonapp.com.
